Her reasoning is that she still believes in God (or "something bigger than us") but she hates what organized religion has done to the world.<br /><br />She rightly sees that they are institutions of men, built to maximize the power of small men and control millions. She also thinks the theological interpretation and ritual are stupid, and would prefer something more spiritual.<br /><br />Thought you might want to hear another argument against organized religion.
