Funny Bible Quote #84

You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

~ Matthew 5:38-42, NIV

  1. I tried this. Made me quite bitter and angry for a while.

  2. It almost sounds... dare I say... liberal and socialist?

  3. Now that you mention it . . . yeah, it does sound liberal and socialist.

I guess that's why most fundamentalist folk don't even read their bibles.

  5. Wow. Fundamentalists don't read their Bibles? Who would have thought!?

Oh, yes. Jesus and the other cheek. So liberal. So socialist (especially in those gulags, concentration camps, and gentle acts of genocide).
