As someone who has been unemployed for almost two years, I can honestly say it’s been easy to avoid feeling defeated. It’s not hard to forget all the failures when they don’t even bother with a letter, e-mail, or phone call to tell me I’ve been rejected.
I heard on NPR today that Fargo, North Dakota is a boomtown.
ReplyDeleteYou should move there.
What the fuck are you looking to do? Two years?!
ReplyDeleteIs the economy THAT bad?
I've applied for so many different things in so many different fields, from education to lab tech work to courier positions to an application I sent out yesterday as a tester for fair housing policy enforcement (I would basically test people's qualifications to work on teams prosecuting abuse of fair housing policies).
DeleteDon't call it "the economy," it's employers not employing people to work in this country. "The economy" doesn't even mean anything
From a barely literate person a short tale. I was sitting in my brokers office killing time when she asked me if I wanted to help her go through 700+ applications for a $10.00 an hour with no benefits receptionist job? Sure I said. What do I look for? First thing she said was toss anybody not currently employed or out of work more than two months. I would suggest you look at starting your own business.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a clip-on collar and 3-button button placket that turns any t-shirt into a golf/polo shirt?
DeleteI think Veggie-Panda was a better idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat about crotch-flavored dog treats?
